SPED/SDC/ CRITICAL SKILSS
Our adult transition program for students aged 18-22 is designed to help young adults with disabilities or other challenges successfully prepare for life after high school. We focus on building life skills, work experience, and community involvement to help students become more independent.
In our program, students learn essential life skills such as budgeting, cooking, cleaning, and time management. We also provide opportunities for them to explore different career options, build resumes, practice job interviews, and gain real-world work experience through internships or job shadowing. Additionally, we help students develop social skills, volunteer, and learn how to navigate their community using public transportation.
For those interested in continuing their education, we offer support with preparing for college or vocational training, including academic help and tips for managing campus life. We also teach students how to advocate for themselves, manage their health, and handle personal needs.
We keep families involved throughout the process, offering resources and support so they can guide their young adults through this transition. Our program works closely with local organizations and services to provide extra assistance, like transportation or medical support.
Overall, our goal is to help students become more independent and ready for whatever comes next, whether it’s work, further education, or living on their own.
